Our Western Red Cedar Barrel Sauna is spacious enough to accommodate 2 to 4 people. Its smaller size can heat up almost instantly which means you can enjoy a steamy sauna sooner, without having to wait for the entire space to heat up. We offer 2 standard sizes:

The sauna is made of premium Canadian Western Red Cedar and designed so that you can enjoy the ambiance while you sweat out all your tension. And because the barrel sauna is designed to be used in small spaces, it’s perfect for people who have small backyards, decks, or patios.
The Western Red Cedar Barrel Sauna has a sleek Scandinavian-inspired design guaranteed to give your property a touch of luxury. It is made with high-quality wood staves that fit together tightly with stainless steel bands and fasteners. This design allows the lumber to expand and contract naturally, creating a tight seal. Not only does this sauna look great, but it is also energy efficient and distributes heat evenly throughout the interior.
Shym Saunas’ 2-4-person Cedar Barrel Sauna is pre-built with a tough and sturdy Western Cedar Wood frame, as well as wall panels, benches, and cradles made from the same high-quality wood. This sauna can be placed outdoors or indoors. The sauna can be equipped with electric or firewood heater (for 1.8 m length option only).
Add a simple and comfortable new level of relaxation to your sauna experience with its crafted slat benches. The versatile design (new benches are flat and not curved) allows users to lay back, stretch, or simply sit and enjoy the heat. This added comfort and flexibility make the sauna experience even more enjoyable.
The glass door is an important part of the sauna experience as it allows for light to come through and yet does not compromise on heat retention. The optional tinting helps to create a sense of privacy and relaxation, while the tempered glass ensures that the door will not be affected by the temperature changes inside the sauna.
The door is also especially designed to control the air circulation for an optimal sauna experience. In addition, it is equipped with a handle that stays cool to the touch, even when the interior of the sauna is at its highest temperature.
Providing a solid and firm foundation is the durable support cradles of the barrel sauna. Even if you place it directly on the ground, the unit stays safe from any moisture penetration and weather damage. The support cradles are typically made from carbon fiber or associated timber. They are designed to ensure stability, insulation, and optimal ventilation.
It is essential to have sufficient breathing air in the sauna. A good sauna must have 6-10 full air changes per hour. The venting holes are carefully designed to allow this to happen. They also help to circulate the air inside and prevent the build-up of excessive moisture. Our built-in venting holes not only make for a more comfortable sauna experience for you, but they can also help to extend the life of the barrel sauna by preventing mold and mildew from developing.
These bands help to distribute the weight evenly and prevent the structure from warping or deforming. As a result, the sauna can withstand great amounts of pressure, making it a safe and enjoyable place to relax and unwind.
All the pieces are precut and fit together easily, so there’s no need for sawing or cutting. With just a few basic woodworking skills, anyone can assemble one of our saunas in about 6-8 hours. Plus, our kits come with everything you need to get started, rocks, benches, lamp (must be connected by a qualified electrician), and more.

The Western cedar barrel sauna is a DIY sauna that can be put together using the barrel assembly methodology.
This involves putting up walls in the center with staves surrounding them and holding them in place with straps made of stainless steel.
This method requires fewer fasteners while still providing maximized insulation and flexible expansion. The barrel rests on wooden or carbon fibre crates, ensuring stability and ventilation.
Product dimensions: 150 cm or 180 cm L x 200 cm W (Diameter).
This sauna will accommodate 2 – 4 people comfortably depending on dimensions.

High-grade Cedar Structure – all wooden components are fabricated out of cedar wood for the sauna for the best outdoor/indoor spa experience. The wood thickness is around 1.5 inches (3.85cm)

Assuming the person assembling it is skilled, this DIY sauna kit is easy to put together and can be done in just a few hours. The kit includes everything needed except a screwdriver and has clear instructions. A full assembly video is available, as well as phone support for questions.
You will need help from a qualified electrician for the wiring of the heater and lights.
