The Leil® Lerra Barrel Sauna Series

The Lerra Series is a pair of outdoor barrel saunas built by Saunasell in Estonia, the same workshop behind our Leil Patio and Viva ranges.

The walls are 40 mm Thermopine, baked until the sugars that feed rot are gone, so the timber holds its shape and its warm brown colour outdoors. A shingle roof runs over the arc and the front is a full height tempered black glass door.

The PURE is the compact one, a single room with full length benches down both walls. The PLUS is wider and adds a covered terrace with a seat either side of the door, and it takes a wood burning stove as well as an electric heater.

Both arrive as a flat packed kit on one pallet with a printed manual, so there is no slab to pour and no trade to book for the build itself.

We brought a sauna from them back in November last year and Art installed it for us.  It was a smooth process from start to finish and since its installation we have been really enjoying the benefits of the sauna post our open water swims.  Originally we thought we would just use it in the sholder seasons and winter, but we actually used it throughout summer as well! Thanks Eunice and Art for their great correspondence and advice for purchasing our Cube sauna which fit perfectly in the backyard.  The quality of the sauna is fabulous;  we enjoy it every time we get in it - almost everyday. Communication was A+ and worked with us to ensure we had all the right information before we ordered and before we took delivery of the sauna;  the delivery is a flat pack and i would advise if you can get the sauna delivered to a local depot near you and hire a trailer to pick it up (8*5 is needed for Serenity Round Cube Mini Thermo-Treated Spruce Sauna 2m - which weighed around 900kg)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an electrician to install a Lerra sauna?

Yes, if you choose an electric heater. A sauna heater needs its own dedicated circuit, so an electrician wires it in. If you choose a wood burning stove on the PLUS there is no wiring at all.

How long does assembly take?

About a day with two people using hand tools. The kit arrives flat packed on one pallet with a printed manual. The manufacturer’s own team builds one in around six hours, so allow a bit more for a first time.

What is the difference between the PURE and the PLUS?

The PURE is one room, 2.0 m across and 2.24 m long, and takes an electric heater. The PLUS is wider at 2.2 m and longer at 2.6 m, adds a covered terrace with a seat either side of the door, has a two level bench inside, and takes either an electric or a wood burning heater.

Where can I put one?

Outdoors, on firm level ground. The barrel sits on its own timber cradle so it does not need a concrete slab, but the ground under it has to be level and stable. Leave room to open the door and, if you go wood fired, to load the stove.

Is a heater included?

No. Choose one in the Cost Calculation tab on either product page and it ships with the sauna. The PURE takes an electric heater. The PLUS takes electric or wood burning.

What is covered by the warranty?

24 months on materials and production defects from the date of delivery. It does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation.
