PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Aspen Sauna Bench Boards 22mm are the surface you actually sit and lie on — the most important timber in your sauna. While cladding lines the walls and ceiling, your bench boards are in direct, prolonged contact with bare skin at high temperatures. That makes the choice of timber here more critical than anywhere else in the room.
Aspen is the traditional Finnish answer to that challenge, and for good reason. It contains virtually no resin or tannins, stays cooler to the touch than almost any other sauna timber, and produces a smooth, splinter-free surface that remains comfortable session after session, year after year.
Each pack contains 7 bench boards and is sold per pack only.
The 22mm thickness provides the structural depth required for proper bench construction — substantial enough to span bench framing without flex, while the rounded edges eliminate sharp corners that would be uncomfortable against skin at temperature.
Coverage guide:
Each pack of 7 boards at 95mm wide covers approximately 0.665 m² of bench surface — sufficient for approximately one full bench tier in a compact sauna or half a tier in a larger build.

Why Choose Aspen Sauna Cladding?
- The Coolest Timber Against Skin — Aspen has lower thermal conductivity than most sauna timbers, meaning the surface stays noticeably cooler to the touch even at high temperatures — no burning, no discomfort, no matter how long the session.
- Resin-Free, Skin-Safe by Nature — Aspen contains virtually no resin or tannins. There is nothing to leach onto bare skin at heat, no sticky residue, and no irritation — even over years of regular use.
- Rounded Edges as Standard — Every board is finished with smooth, rounded edges. No sharp corners, no splinters, no edges that become uncomfortable when you shift position mid-session.
- 22mm Structural Depth — At 22mm thick, these boards provide genuine structural integrity across bench framing — no flex, no bounce, no movement underfoot or underhand.
- Kiln-Dried for High-Heat Stability — Precisely dried for stable, warp-free performance in sauna environments, session after session, year after year.
- Bright Scandinavian Finish — Aspen’s naturally pale, almost white tone keeps the bench looking clean and fresh — far more forgiving of steam and moisture than darker timbers.
- The Traditional Finnish Choice — Aspen has been used for sauna benches across Scandinavia for generations — not by accident, but because no other commonly available timber performs as well in direct skin contact at high heat.
- Pairs Perfectly with Aspen Cladding — For a fully coordinated sauna interior, these bench boards match our Aspen Sauna Cladding range in species, tone, and finish — creating a seamless, consistent look from walls to benches.
