The DROP is HUUM’s wall mounted electric heater, shaped after a drop of water. Its rounded cage of stainless steel arcs softens the straight lines of a sauna room, and because it hangs on the wall, the floor stays clear for the bench.
Behind the shape is a serious stone load. The DROP holds up to 55 kg of stones, which HUUM says is more than most wood burning heaters, and HUUM builds it for a gentle, long lasting steam.
The stones sit in the drop shaped cage, packed around the heating elements. That stone load is what HUUM builds the DROP’s gentle, long lasting steam around.
The DROP 6 suits sauna rooms of 5 to 9 m3, and the DROP 9 rooms of 8 to 13 m3.
Sauna rooms are all straight lines. The DROP is not, and its curve reads as an object in the room rather than a piece of equipment bolted to the wall.
The design won a Red Dot award in 2015, and the details are durable stainless steel.
The DROP has no controls of its own and needs a separate controller. This package includes the HUUM UKU WiFi control set, so you can set a temperature and a start time in the HUUM app and walk into a warm room.
The set has the control panel, main module, safety and bench sensors, a door sensor kit and cable. The plastic control panel mounts outside the sauna room.
HUUM designs its heaters in Estonia and makes them with Estonian partners. The curved cage cannot be fully automated, so its arcs are cut and bent wire by wire.
The UKU controller that runs it took HUUM five years to develop, and it is made in Estonia too.
A wall mounted heater gives back the floor space a freestanding heater takes up, and that matters most in the smaller rooms this heater is built for.
You are not giving up stone to get it. HUUM says the DROP’s 55 kg is more than most wood burning heaters hold.

The DROP must be connected by a licensed electrician on its own circuit, and the wall has to carry about 65 kg once the stones are in. HUUM asks for proof of professional installation before it honours a warranty claim, and requires the complete set to be installed, including the full stone load. The wiring is not part of this package.
Set it from the app on the way home and the room is at temperature when you open the door. Pour water on a full load of hot stone and you get the gentle, lasting steam that makes people sit for another ten minutes.
