The DROP is shaped after a falling water drop, a rounded stainless steel cage that softens the hard angles of a sauna room. It mounts on the wall, so the floor stays clear for the bench.
Behind the shape is a serious stone load. The DROP carries up to 55 kg of stones, more than many wood burning stoves, and that mass is what gives it the long, soft steam HUUM is known for.
Up to 55 kg of stones sit in the cage and are heated right through rather than warmed on top. Water poured onto a deep, evenly heated stone bed turns to steam slowly instead of flashing off the surface.
That is the difference people notice first with a HUUM, and it is why the DROP covers rooms up to 15 m3 despite its size.
Sauna rooms are all straight lines. The DROP deliberately is not, and its curve reads as an object in the room rather than a piece of equipment bolted to the wall.
The frame is stainless steel, shot blasted and acid treated, so the finish holds up to years of heat and water.
The DROP comes with an external WiFi controller. Set a temperature and a start time in the HUUM app and the room is ready when you walk in.
HUUM spent five years developing the electronics behind it, and they are made in Estonia by Oshino Electronics.
The curved cage rules out an automated production line, so every frame is measured, bent and finished by hand in Estonia.
Controller cases are turned from thermo treated ash, which means no two of them look quite the same.
A wall mounted stove gives back the floor space a freestanding heater takes up, and that matters most in the smaller rooms this heater is built for.
You are not giving anything up to get it. The stone load is closer to a wood burner than to a typical electric heater of this size.

The heater must be connected by a licensed electrician. A 6 kW or 9 kW heater needs its own circuit sized to the load, and that wiring is not part of this kit, so allow for it when you budget the install.
Set it from the app on the way home and the room is at temperature when you open the door. Pour water on 55 kg of hot stone and you get the kind of soft, lasting steam that makes people sit for another ten minutes.
